The Barbour story began in 1894 when John Barbour opened his first store in the Market Place in South Shields, UK. Barbour HQ is still based in South Shields to this date and the iconic Barbour Wax Jacket is still manufactured in it's factory in Simonside. Barbour is now one of the most iconic lifestyle brands out there, broadening out from its countrywear roots, today the heritage and lifestyle clothing brand produces items that are designed for a full lifestyle wardrobe. As well as wax jackets and quilt jackets, the Barbour wardrobe includes trousers, shirts, socks, knitwear and a range of accessories.
